Marinoni Pewter
  • The Marinoni company is based between Lake Garda and Lake Iseo in northern Italy and is a family business under the leadership of Alfredo Marinoni.
  • Marinoni craftsmen cast hot metal into moulds and then make each product unique through a hand finishing process at the workbench.
  • The final finish is determined either by burnishing which gives the product a distinctive ‘aged’ look that adds subtle tonal qualities or alternatively products are hand polished which enhances the natural brightness of pewter.
  • Marinoni Pewter is an alloy consisting of 95% tin. All of our products can be used with total safety for eating and drinking as they consist of 100% non toxic materials in conformity with EU standard EN-611/1.
  • The care of Pewter - since the metal is so pure there is very little oxidisation which means that products require very little cleaning. It is helpful to occasionally wash objects in soap and water and to dry carefully with a soft cloth and then perhaps once a year to clean with the same products used to clean silver.
  • The Pewter Masters mark - in accordance with ancient tradition each Pewter Master has a personal mark with which they are required to stamp each product made in their workshop. Every item in the Marinoni collection carries the mark of the owl.
